Hey all,

So now I'm in LA and trying to get some LA things happening... no writing gigs yet, but I've been getting some DP gigs and such... here's a bit of what's going on:

I'm helping to produce a live-to-the-internet movie review show called "Stupid for Movies," created by a guy named Mike Rotman. It's kinda like Siskel and Ebert, but with web tie-ins. We have two great LA film critics, Mark Keizer and Wade Major, who have great chemistry together and deep knowledge. We have a weekly minor celebrity guest (once we hit pace, they will get bigger) and a news segment with Chad Vader. And views are able to use chat/twitter/skype to interact and ask questions and stuff. It's kinda cool, and we're definitely treating it as a web pilot to try to get a TV show eventually.

The second episode is here: http://blip.tv/file/3183117/

I was DP (director of photography) on a short for atom.com called "Sketch of the Dead" starring Paul F. Tompkins and Rich Sommer (of Mad Men). It's done pretty well (100,000+ hits, which is really good for atom.com).

It is here: http://www.atom.com/funny_videos/sketch_of_the_dead/

So far I'm enjoying myself.

Chad Vader is in a web series in which he, in full Darth Vader regalia (he's a cousin or something of D.V.) is the day manager at a grocery store. It's very funny.

Yah, Chad Vader is Darth's brother and he manages a grocery store. First episode is here:

It's a good lesson in self-made entertainment. They made this for pretty much nothing in Wisconsin, ended up getting nine million hits and now they make their entire living making YouTube videos... more Chad Vader episodes, and other random stuff, as well as recently some commissioned branded entertainment things. The two guys responsible for it came to visit the studio last week and did it live, which was great.

The movie review show has been going well... a week and a half ago the reviewers panned Cop Out, a film that friend-of-the-show Kevin Pollak is in... Pollak video-skyped in from NYC (where he had gone for the premiere of Cop Out) and rebutted their poor review:

http://blip.tv/file/3273850 (Pollak comes in at about 16:30)

The majority of the crew running the movie review show shot a web series for Pollak in February... it will be out in March, and I'll certainly post it here. A lot of the guys on this also run Kevin Pollak's Chat Show (http://kevinpollakschatshow.com/), which just picked up three Streamy nominations. It's a Charlie-Rose-esque interview show live to the internet every Sunday.
