"A hardened American gunslinger is repeatedly thwarted in his attempts to mount a showdown in a friendly town in Canada where no one seems to understand or appreciate the brutal code of the American Wild West."

This one's for Ducky, from one Paul Gross fan to another...

What exactly is the appeal of Gross? Due South was fine, at first, and Passchendaele was nice to look at, but there’s not much else on his resume of any note.

I don't think I've ever seen anything he's done that really moved me, or made me laugh, or made me think, or, a lot of the time, made any sense.

He seems like a nice guy, and I’m sure his heart’s in the right place, but I have no idea while people want to watch his work.

For me, it's not just about his acting or writing (which are both good), but also what he does behind the scenes. He's a very vocal and active supporter of home-grown content, unlike other actors (Shatner, Reeves, Carrey, Fraser) who once they got to Hollywood gave Canadian production a hearty (and apparently heartfelt) "Fuck You", He and actors like Michael Ironside and Jason Priestley are apparently not embarrassed to work on projects that originate in their home and native land.

It's not just about he does in front of the camera, but also respect for what he does to support the industry from behind it.

I've not seen Passchendaele, but I like the off humor he excels at - when he gets to do it. Which means anything he's done south of the border kinda sucks ass (i.e. Eastwick). But I'm mostly into Slings and Arrows, Men with Brooms, etc. The quirky, mostly harmless stuff.

And ditto the sentiment on his behind the scenes work.

Thanks for the link. I'd not heard about the movie. Appears to be a Canadian production, so let's hope it's good.

Quack.

Whyaduck,

Here's a link to a longer trailer that showcases his quirky humour, but I can't guarantee it'll work for a US ISP.
